The ‘K-Demon Hunters’ Effect: K-Beauty Fever Sweeps the Middle East… The ‘Blue Ocean Opens Up”

The ‘K-Demon Hunters’ Effect: K-Beauty Fever Sweeps the Middle East… The ‘Blue Ocean Opens Up”

K-Demon Hunters’ Syndrome Boosts K-Beauty Popularity in Saudi & Kuwait
Premium K-Beauty Online Shop FASFAS Sees Traffic Soar

K-Beauty is gaining stronger recognition in the Middle East — particularly in Saudi Arabia — thanks in part to the global buzz around Netflix’s animated series “K-Demon Hunters”, sparking expectations of a potential “Middle-East Special Boom.”

Jessica, Executive Director of the premium K-fashion & beauty online platform FASFAS, said recently, “B2C traffic from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain has surged sharply, and B2B inquiries from Middle-Eastern buyers who viewed our newly released fashion lookbook have also increased noticeably.”

Based on its worldwide network of more than 1,000 B2B buyers, the platform produces seasonal multilingual lookbooks that highlight each brand’s philosophy and storytelling — a key pillar of its premium strategy. The trend has drawn fresh attention at the 95th Saudi National Day celebration held in Seoul, where expectations for a “Middle-East boom” in K-Beauty gained momentum.

At the same event, Korea’s Minister of Trade, Industry and Energy Kim Jeong-gwan stressed that “Korea and Saudi Arabia must enhance the value of cooperation and broaden its horizon toward a new era of growth,” proposing to expand bilateral collaboration into advanced semiconductors, robotics, AI technologies as well as cultural sectors such as K-Pop and K-Drama.

A makeup artist identified only as Ms. S, who also attended the reception, added that Saudi dignitaries were highly enthusiastic about the participation of a Korean makeup artist and showed strong curiosity about Korean cosmetics and makeup trends.

Jason, CEO of FASFAS, noted, “Thanks to the recent ‘K-Demon Hunters’ phenomenon, demand for K-Beauty and fashion is surging across the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region, including Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

K-Beauty brands are standing out with their naturally-derived ingredients and functional skincare lines, and what’s encouraging is that this interest is translating into concrete contracts and purchase orders.”

He added that while local certification requirements, logistics infrastructure and cultural adaptation remain challenges, “Expanding into Middle-Eastern markets is no longer optional — it’s essential, especially as a way to circumvent U.S. tariff barriers.”
